Go to God for Direction for Your Career
As a man of God, I prayed, sought wisdom, guidance, and direction from God--I took a step of faith with the final decision I made.
I did not have an audible voice or a mystical experience to confirm my decision nor did I have 100% confidence to go the self employment route. I had my faith that I have learned to lean on for the past 25 years of my life and the experience of God's providence in my entire life.
In retrospection, It has proven to be the right decision and I credit my success to Christ. Even during a pandemic God has sustained me & my family.
At the end of the day, if Jesus is your Lord and Savior, then trusting God in all areas of life is the norm for faith and practice. Scripture teaches this principle repeatedly (Matt 6:33; 22:36-40;)
Seek God first! Put God First! Is what you will see emphasized and taught from Genesis to Revelation. Everything else: Family, friends, wealth, possessions and decisions are always to be second. Let that sink in... Think if the order is reversed...
Here are some promises from God's word to cling to and pray through as you work your way through unemployment and guidance in your job search.
God has the best in mind for you. Notice the lesser to the greater in providing. Matthew 7:9-11 says:
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"
God sees your life. His eyes are on those who hope and have a reverence toward him.
"Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love," (Psalm 33:18)
God hears your prayers. Praying to God is not pointless especially when it is according to God's will.
"And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us." (I John 5:14)
God is detail oriented. God has precise knowledge about us that would take much effort for us to know of ourselves.
"Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows" (Luke 12:7)
God promises to look after your life.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:25-34)
God is sovereign over life.

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."(Eph 3:20-21)
The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? (Jer 32:26-27)
"For nothing will be impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)
"Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases." (Psalm 115:3)
Ponder on these verses as you face the burdens of life. Does your Theology show God is bigger than any problem you face? I pray it will.
