Monday Devo: Trust God's Heart When You Don't See His Hand

Devotion For Today:

“When we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart.”

STOP: Think about that.

Sometimes you don't see God. Feel like He cares or even think he notices you and the details of your life. It seems like your situation is unique and if God does exist then he must be too busy, ignorant about you, or does not care. Your suffering. Hurting. Sad. Feeling pain. etc. You can not trace his involvement in your life.

May I encourage you back to the scriptures:

Psalm 145:8: The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Notice key words from the verse above:
  • Gracious
  • Merciful
  • Slow to anger
  • Abounding in steadfast love
These words describe the God of the Bible. His attributes. His heart and steadfast love. His patience. His care and compassion for any person willing to lean into Him with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength.

Whatever season of life you find yourself in, call on him and trust his heart even though you can not see his work in your life. I pray that you will walk by faith and not by sight.

Matthew 11:28-29: Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
